Turnkey Solutions for New & Retrofit Cut-to-Length Lines

Leveltek International LLC designs, manufactures and installs stretch leveling systems for retrofit and new light to heavy gauge cut-to-length and coil-to-coil lines.

Leveltek International has been custom designing and building Stretch Leveling Machines since 1991, using its proprietary Non-Marking Stretch Leveling Technology.

The Peak of Stretch Leveling Superiority

Our Stretching Machines are known for exceptional reliability and ease-of-operation. The Leveltek Stretcher design only requires five moving parts. Structural machine components are assembled using precision-machined high strength steel plates, which are bolted together to ensure an expected fatigue life of many decades. No welded or cast components are used in the structure. LI has never experienced a structural failure in any of its Stretch Leveling Machines. All machine movements use brass plates, mating with machined steel surfaces, like high-quality machine tools.

Since our Stretchers are assembled at the job site, transportation is inexpensive using standard trucks or overseas shipping containers. Likewise, on-site assembly of the machine only takes two weeks. The stretch forces are internal to the machine structure. Thus, the Stretcher does not require structural foundations, minimizing the cost and time required for installation.

Leveltek uses a Wedge Design as opposed to Direct Vertical Clamps. The clamping cylinders only provide a fraction of the required vertical clamp forces. Most of these forces are generated by the very high horizontal stretch forces acting through the wedges. This phenomenon greatly improves the energy efficiency of the Leveltek Stretching System. Direct Vertical Clamps fail to utilize the mechanical advantage of the wedge design, and must provide the entire clamp forces using direct hydraulics.

Stretch leveling is effective in removing visible shape defects (waves and buckles) in flat-rolled steel strip. It can also remove non-visible “memory,” which describes a distortion which occurs in visibly flat sheets after laser or plasma cutting. This memory is caused by internal stresses in the sheets which appear to be flat. Linear stretching with additional elongation after reaching the yield point can align the internal stresses to remove memory and prevent distortion in the cut parts.

Why Retrofit?

The Leveltek Stretch Leveler fits easily into new or existing cut-to-length lines. Our unique design concepts, stretch leveling technology and turnkey solutions give you a big advantage over competitors.

With few moving parts, leveling occurs reliably and consistently, helping you to meet or exceed your productivity goals.

Since 1993, we’ve been installing our equipment in steel production facilities worldwide. Clearly, our superior technology fills a vital market need.
